A few years ago I decided to get orthodontia work. I have TMJ and the headaches were getting too much to bear. I couldn't believe how bad my teeth were until I saw my impressions. Age has never been a precedent for me. I will be 40 soon. It doesn't matter if you are young or older, if you're not happy with your smile - GET THEM!

I would like to thank Dr. Karbassi and his "wonderful" staff for doing a great job on my teeth. At first I was told that I needed surgery to correct my problem. That wasn't the case. Dr. Karbassi was able to fix the problem without it. I get tons of compliments, I think people forgot I had a huge gap and the other problems with my teeth. What I have is TMJ. When I first came in I was suffering from headaches periodically and from occasionally my jaw locking on me.

My jaw would sometimes stay locked for a half hour to 45 minutes before releasing. It was very annoying and painful.

Thanks to the treatment and support I received from the doctor and his staff and the diet he says I should stick to, I feel a lot better and suffer from very few, if any, headaches anymore. I have not had my jaw lock up in months now.

When I told my friends and family I had decided to get braces most thought I was crazy. I was, after all, 50, and had been told my teeth really were not "that bad".

As a pre-teen I remember sitting on the floor watching TV, pushing my crooked tooth with a popsicle stick hoping that it would rotate and straighten out. My dentist had told me to try that trick. What a waste of time!

I had made sure my daughters had orthodontia treatment and wouldn't anguish over their crooked teeth, so, at age 50, I decided that it was now my turn to transform my smile to one of which I could be proud.

27 months after the process began, I now have the smile of which I have always dreamed.

The staff was always knowledgeable and supportive, the movies were first rate and Dr. Karbassi was always a source of unique skills and entertainment.
